Apple Unibody Macbook Pro Keyboard Key Replacement (2013 - 2016)

One of my keys stopped working because the rubber cup in the key was worn out. Unfortunately the replacement key also had a defective rubber cup but customer support was able to send me a replacement relatively quickly and even included an extra for the trouble.

I ordered two replacement keys. Turns out all I really needed were the silicone cups. The keys have been restored, replacing only the cups and leaving the other OEM components in place. The quality of the molded silicone cup is not up to Apple standards. You can tell that immediately upon close inspection. But it got the job done. I'm not about to swap out the OEM Apple key or scissor after seeing the 2nd rate cup.

I have been sitting in front of computers for over 30 years and never lost a key - until now. I have to assume the CAPS LOCK key was defective from the very start since the only time I actually use the key is to turn off the caps lock when I accidentally hit it. The guts were all chewed up inside. I was greatly relieved to find a place where I could order just the replacement key, along with enough information that I was confident I ordered the correct part. It was a perfect match. I followed instructions and the new key snapped into place just as hoped. Cost was reasonable, shipping timely, and overall completely satisfied with results.
