Compaq used 3 different vendors during the production of this laptop, so even though the keyboard looks exactly the same on top,
there are 3 different versions of the retainer clip under the key cap, but its very easy to identify the version by looking at the charte below,
rest assure all laptop keys are 100% OEM, your replacement key will be a perfect match.

HINT: If your hinge clip is white, choose HC41, HC12 and HC38 both uses black hinge clips, but HC12 has 2 bottom metal tabs, and HC38 only has one.
