This Envy DV7 Square style laptop key replacement will work with all versions of the Envy DV7 Models.
NOTE: There are 5 version of the Square style keyboard, and the easiest way to identify your version is compare the shape of the hinge clip HC12, HC38 and HC40 have black hinge, HC12 has a wider metal tab at the bottom, and HC38 has a shorter tab,and HC40 has 4 metal tabs sticking up. HC29 and HC41 both use white hinge clips, but the shape of the hinges are noticeably different.

1. Identify Hinge Clip Style
The hinge clip is the plastic scissor clip that swivels up and down underneath the keyboard key cap. It is usually either black or white and functions as the part that holds the back of he key to the keyboard.
Manufacturers often use different keyboard vendors during production and each vendor has its own unique type of hinge clip. Compare the chart and identify the version that matches. You will fill this info in Step 2 above.
Hinge Clips are not Universal so if your hinge clip does not match, please Contact Us for help.

Below is an actual picture of the keyboard. Please confirm that the layout matches as well as the language.
NOTE:The default color of the keyboard we show is black. If your model comes in different colors and we have it in stock, it will be available in the color section above.
INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS: Our standard keyboard layout is QWERTY (shown below). If you have a different language layout the key cap and hinge clips are still interchangeable. If the key cap shape does not match or you require a different language layout please contact us before ordering.

I ordered the wrong key first, I was able to send some photos of what I actually needed. The customer service sent me link to the correct pet needed. When I received the second replacement key, it was a perfect fit! It took longer than what I had anticipated to get my missing key replaced, but all in all, I'm very happy with my purchase and will defiantly use this service again in the future.

Key replacement was a Snap and I saved 20% the value of a new Laptop.
Less than minute after receiving the shipment from REPLACEMENT LAPTOP KEYS, and reviewing the instructions, I was typing on the replaced key. Replacing the key was a snap! (more a soft "click!" really) both literally and figuratively. The new key fits snugly and responded beautifully when typed on, it is also visually and texturally indistinguishable from the surrounding original keys on my HP Envy D7 laptop. I had called my local Bestbuy store and they were going to send the entire laptop away for 2 weeks for a full keyboard replacement and charge me approx. $160-190 + tax&shipping for the privilege. I would recommend anyone try this option first, If for no other reason than the great feeling you get when you realize that you've just avoided an unnecessary "cash hemorrhage" as well as a fortnight of waiting around tweedling your thumbs. Most of us are familiar with that "I've-just-unexpectedly-rediscovered-a-forgotten-20 dollar bill-in-my-jacket-pocket" feeling, this is like that, only much, much better.

Excellent matched and fit perfectly!
